The summer term ends on Friday 25th May. Hooray! Time for a well-earned break after all your course work. We hope you’re enjoying the warmer weather and are managing to keep cool whilst completing your studies.
Some important Library-related things to remember in the run-up to the holidays:
The auto-renewals system will remain in place over the whole summer vacation so, unless you really need Library books over the summer, it’s best to return them, particularly if you’re going away for periods. If you do decide to keep books out on loan during the vacation, there is a possibility that another Library user could place a book on hold. This would mean that the book might be recalled from you. To avoid overdue fines, do please keep an eye on your student email to make sure that any Library books on loan haven’t been recalled. If one of your books is recalled, the Offsite team will still be here beavering away, so you will be able to post them back to the Library over the summer. Please see our contact details.
If you wanted to visit the Library in person (which you can still do 24/7), please check out the Library opening hours also. Please remember your Leeds Beckett campus (student) card if visiting in person.
If you’re course finishes this year, checkout our Offsite blog post from 9th May for news of access to MyBeckett and your files once you’ve graduated. You’ll also need to return all of your Library books and pay any outstanding charges by 30th June. You can check your Library account by logging into the Library catalogue using your MyBeckett login details. If you think you have lost any books please contact Offsite or the Library as soon as possible.
If you are still completing work, please be kind to yourself – take regular breaks away from your screen and books and stay hydrated. The Student Wellbeing Team can help if you’re feeling under pressure. They also have a self-help page offering you resources to promote your wellbeing.
We’d love to hear from you!
