Library closures Sunday 21st & 28th August

Every year we have to implement Library closures in order to carry out essential electrical maintenance on some of our University buildings. This year the work is taking place over two Sundays in August.

This essential work helps to ensure the smooth running of the Library and also help us to maintain our 24/7 opening. To help minimise disruption we never close both Libraries at the same time. This year we plan to close at the following times:

Sunday 21st August

07:00 – 19:00 Sheila Silver Library closed. Headingley Library open.

Sunday 28th August

07:00 – 19:00 Headingley Library closed. Sheila Silver Library open.

On this day the following services will also be unavailable between 07:00-19:00

  • i-Print (Headingley only)
  • Access to P Drive (file store)

Don’t forget our Library website always gives you access to over 140,000 quality online resources!

We are very sorry for any inconvenience these closures may cause.

If you have any queries please contact Offsite.

Offsite students with disabilities can now borrow books for 6 weeks

In response to feedback from Offsite students, students who are registered with both the Offsite and Disability Advice services can now borrow books for 6 weeks. This allows an extra 2 weeks in addition to the standard Offsite loan period of 4 weeks. Please contact Offsite to request this extended loan period so that we can update our records.

You can also find out more about the Library support available for disabled and dyslexic users.

Christmas has arrived in the library!

We arrived in the library on Monday morning to discover that the festive elves had been in over the weekend and put up a Christmas tree just outside the library’s main entrance! I know that lots of you will have assignments to complete in December so it’s a good idea to request any books you need from the library as early as possible as your postman is very busy in December! We have created a handy video guide that explains how to request books by mail or please do contact the Offsite team directly if you need any help with this.

Good luck with your assessments and don’t forget that we are here to help!
