Want to brush up on some academic or IT skills?

Our Library based Skills for Learning team have a cornucopia of online resources to support your academic and IT skills, available to access off campus via their webpages.

podcast The most recent addition to the collection is the Skills for Learning podcast (MyBeckett log in required) which discusses how best to engage with reflection through reflective writing.

Please don’t forget that all assignments are expected to be correctly cited & referenced, with the majority of courses at Leeds Beckett using a local version of Harvard referencing – please refer to the online version of Quote, Unquote for guidance and instruction.  Students studying Law would normally use OSCOLA referencing  and Psychology students APA referencing

We have online tutorials to help you with IT skills, such as Word, Excel and Powerpoint, and a guide to help you format your dissertation using word (to hopefully let you concentrate on writing it!)

Lastly, there is plenty of research help and information given, such as literature searching, managing your research project and even analysing and presenting data – hopefully most bases covered.  Best of luck with your studies this semester.

Why not join us on the Leeds Beckett Distance Learning Community.

Leeds Beckett Distance Learning Community is a place for all Leeds Beckett distance learning students, across all courses, to chat to each other and to ask questions to the Distance Learning Unit.

Sign up here to become part of the community.

Please contact the Offsite team if you need any help and information. We look forward to hearing from you.
