Is there a book or other resource that you need for your course or research that the Library doesn’t hold? You can let us know what you would like us to buy – go to Beckett Books Extra on the Library tab in MyBeckett. This is in addition to the resources purchased by your Academic Librarian in conjunction with your lecturers.
You can access other university libraries via the SCONUL Access scheme. Staff, postgraduate, part time, distance and placement students can usually borrow from these libraries. Full time undergraduates can use them for reference. More information is available on our Using Other Libraries page, including a video on how to apply.
If you want to use the internet on your laptop during your visit just log in to Eduroam before you go and you’ll be automatically connected in hundreds of libraries in the UK and abroad.
If you’re looking for a book or journal that Leeds Beckett Library doesn’t have in stock you might want to visit the British Library or apply for an Interlibrary Loan. This service is mainly for final year and postgraduate students but please contact your Academic Librarian if you are not in your final year but can’t find what you need in the Library.
New in: We have recently added over 180 new Sport titles from Taylor & Francis to our ebook collection.
These titles cover the subject areas of Sport and Exercise science, Sports coaching and P.E.
You can access these titles via the library catalogue and Discover. A full list of the titles is also available.
In order to view these titles, you will need to use the FileOpen plugin, which is already installed on all University computers. If you would like to access these titles when you are off campus, you can download and install the plugin from here.
Some of the titles have DRM protection which means that there are printing, copying and concurrent user restrictions. Please contact us if you have any problems accessing any of these ebooks.
